The US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) has released an annual update for the Directed Energy Test Science and Technology (DET S&T) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). A new test technology area has been created for Electronic Warfare Test (EWT). A new BAA is released for EWT.

The DET BAA is available at both the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) and the Army Single Face to Industry(ASFI) acquisition business websites and provides information and instructions about the revised DET S&T solicitation, which considers awards to new projects with Fiscal Year 2013 funding. US Army PEO STRI manages DET and EWT S&T projects at the direction of the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), to advance the development of technologies required to support test and evaluation (T&E) of directed energy weapon systems in the high power microwave and high energy laser domains (with a special interest neutron generator topic added in this BAA) and the electronic warfare arena, focusing on electro-optic and radio-frequency domains. Contracting with government agencies, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and private industry, this collaboration is intended to mature high-risk, high payoff technologies to fill T&E gaps or address future T&E shortfalls.

US Army PEO STRI also provides BAA contracting services for other Test Technology Areas (TTAs) under the direction of the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC). The following BAAs (or amendments) have been released in support of TTAs located at other services and agencies.
