The Directed Energy Test and Evaluation Capability (DETEC) Lead System Integrator (LSI) completed work on the High Power Microwave (HPM) Test Target Subsystems Surety (TTSS) Capability, which consists of a document entitled “A Guideline for TTSS Methodology.” The HPM TTSS Capability was developed under subcontract with Sol Oriens (S-O), LLC of Albuquerque, NM.

The methodology provides a process to aid Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) analysts, planners, and technicians charged with preparing test plans and targets for range tests accomplish the activities required to evaluate the operation of any test specific subsystems (telemetry, flight termination, and flight control systems) installed in a test target during a HPM test event. The results of the process are test target subsystem(s) that meet both range safety and performance requirements while not impacting the normal operation or response of the test target itself.
